| Description |
The Work of this project provides for the furnishing of all labor, materials, appliances, tools, equipment, and plant, and the performing of all Work in accordance with these specifications and drawings, with exception of work that is expressly and specifically not included in the project.
The project consists of one (1) contract.
BASE BID work shall include, but not be limited to:
Remove and replace existing bus wash systems at three maintenance facilities: Cold Springs, Babcock and Frontier. Bus washes have been procured from state contract by the NFTA. Contractor is responsible for installation and to coordinate with manufacturer (Westmatic, Scott Witter, scott.witter@westmatic.com 866-747-4567 ext. 109) on installation and testing.

The Contract Documents may be examined in the 7th Floor Conference Room, 181 Ellicott Street, Buffalo, New York 14203 or on the NFTA’s Engineering Branch website at www.nftaengineering.com. Online registration is required to become a Plan Holder and obtain Contract Documents. Copies of the Contract Documents are available at no cost and may be requested from Cindy Cirbus at 716-855-7342 or fax 716-855-7447 or downloaded from the NFTA’s Engineering Branch website. The Contract Documents may be picked up or sent via courier billed to the requester.

The NFTA reserves the right to waive irregularities, to reject any or all bids and to extend the bidding period.
Bid security must accompany each bid and, if the base bid exceeds $50,000.00, must be in an amount not less than ten percent of the total bid price. Bid security may be submitted prior to bid opening either electronically utilizing Surety2000 at www.surety2000.com, or delivered to the NFTA in an opaque sealed envelope. Details for electronic submission are provided on the NFTA’s Engineering/Contracting website. In the event a bidder utilizes an offline bid but provides bid security electronically the electronic bid bond number must be submitted with the offline bid.
The Contractor shall perform not less than 50% of the Work with its own forces.
The MBE (Minority-Owned Business Enterprises), WBE (Women-Owned Business Enterprises), and SDVOB (Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Business) Goals are as follows: MBE 7%, WBE 7% and SDVOB 6%.
The time of completion for the project is 221 calendar days after receipt of the Notice to Proceed.
Liquidated damages will be assessed against the Contractor for its failure to complete the project within the time specified as described in Technical Specification Section 01 11 00 “Summary of Work”.
A Pre-Bid conference will be held on June 18th, 2024, at 9:30 a.m. at Cold Springs Garage, 1547 Michigan Avenue, Buffalo New York, 14209 in the training room. A walk-through at Frontier Garage (1000 Military Rd, Kenmore, NY 14217) then Babcock Garage (721 New Babcock St, Buffalo, NY 14206) will be conducted directly following the Pre-Bid conference. Note, closed-toed shoes and safety glasses will be required at each facility. Refer to the Invitation to Propose in the Project Manual for further information.
