Description The Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority (“NFTA”) will receive bids on a general contract for the Church Street Station Rehabilitation. The scope of work includes:

Rehabilitation and Renovation of Existing Outbound and Inbound Light Rail Stations. Replacement of steel structure and roof canopy, reconfiguration of station amenities and resurfacing of ramp and paving. Installation of new railings, benches, wall cladding and station wind protection.

Online registration is required to become a registered user and obtain Contract Documents. Copies of the Contract Documents are available for $ 0 (no cost) and may be requested from Cindy Cirbus at 716-855-7342 or fax 716-855-7447 or downloaded from the NFTA's Engineering/Contracting website. Requests may be accompanied by certified check, cashier's check or postal money order drawn in favor of the NFTA. This sum is non-refundable. The Contract Documents may be picked up or sent via courier billed to the requester.

Special Instructions The NFTA reserves the right to waive irregularities, to reject any or all bids and to extend the bidding period.

Bid security must accompany each bid and must be in an amount not less than ten percent of the total bid price if the base bid exceeds $50,000.00. Bid security may be submitted prior to bid opening either electronically utilizing Surety2000 at www.surety2000.com, or delivered to the NFTA in an opaque sealed envelope. Details for electronic submission are provided on the NFTA’s Engineering Branch website. In the event a bidder utilizes an offline bid but provides bid security electronically the electronic bid bond number must be submitted with the offline bid.

The time of completion for the project is 340 calendar days after receipt of the Notice to Proceed.

Liquidated damages in the amount of $1,125 per calendar day will be assessed against the Contractor for its failure to complete the project within the time specified. Refer to Section 011100 Item 1.12 Monetary Damages for all Milestones and associated Liquidated Damages.

The MWBE (Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprises) and SDVOB (Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Business) Goals are as follows: MBE 10%, WBE 0% and SDVOB 10%.

A Pre-Bid Conference will be held February 21, 2024 at 10:00am at the MTC, 1st Floor Conference Room, 181 Ellicott Street, Buffalo, New York 14203.
