| Description |
The Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority (“NFTA”) will receive bids on a general contract for the BNIA – Security Desk. Project Number 15BT2402.
The project consists of one (1) contract with the scope of work divided into Base Bid and one (1) Deduct Alternate bid item; BNIA - Security Desk. The project will be implemented under one (1) Notice to Proceed (NTP) as set forth in the Contract Documents.
The Base Bid work of this project provides for the modification of an existing screen wall and installation of an elevated security platform located on the Departures level at the Buffalo Niagara International Airport (BNIA) Terminal. Deduct Alternate 1 removes the ballistic-rated paneling from the wall construction. Refer to the Contract Drawings, Project Manual and Technical Specifications for additional information. |

The Contract Documents may be examined in the 7th Floor Conference Room, 181 Ellicott Street, Buffalo, New York 14203 or on the NFTA’s Engineering Branch website at www.nftaengineering.com. Online registration is required to become a Plan Holder and obtain Contract Documents. Copies of the Contract Documents are available at no cost and may be requested from Cindy Cirbus at 716-855-7342 or fax 716-855-7447 or downloaded from the NFTA’s Engineering Branch website. The Contract Documents may be picked up or sent via courier billed to the requester.

The NFTA reserves the right to waive irregularities, to reject any or all bids and to extend the bidding period.
Bid security must accompany each bid and must be in an amount not less than ten percent of the total bid price if the base bid exceeds $50,000.00. Bid security may be submitted prior to bid opening either electronically utilizing Surety2000 at www.surety2000.com or delivered to the NFTA in an opaque sealed envelope. Details for electronic submission are provided on the NFTA’s Engineering Branch website. In the event a bidder utilizes an offline bid but provides bid security electronically the electronic bid bond number must be submitted with the offline bid.
The Contractor shall perform not less than 50% of the work with its own forces.
Refer to Technical Specification Section 01 11 00 “Summary of Work” for additional time constraints and milestones associated with this project.
Liquidated damages will be assessed against the Contractor for its failure to complete the project within the time specified as described in Technical Specification Section 01 11 00 “Summary of Work”.
A Pre-Bid conference will be held on October 22, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at the BNIA Large (2E76) conference room located at 4200 Genesee St, Cheektowaga, NY 14225. A location plan is provided in the project manual, following the invitation to bid, for reference. Note: there will not be a designated parking area for the meeting, and any parking fees will be the responsibility of attendees.
The NFTA goals for this procurement are 10% MBE, 20% WBE, & 6% SDVOB.
