Description |
The design services scope of work consists of preparing bid documents to completely remove and replace the Steel Hose Standpipe System (SHSS) in the NFTA-Metro rail tunnel, which was part of the original construction. The total length of the SHSS is nine (9) miles in both directions (inbound & outbound) and is required by the NYS Building code. The SHSS is severely corroded throughout and is unable to maintain pressure as required by code. |

The Request for Proposals (RFP) may be examined in the 7th Floor Conference Room, 181 Ellicott Street, Buffalo, New York 14203. Copies of the RFP are available at no charge and shall be requested from Cindy Cirbus at 716-855-7342 or fax 716-855-7447 and can be downloaded from the Authority's Engineering website at www.nftaengineering.com. The RFP may be picked up Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to Noon and 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., or sent via courier billed to the requester. Document Holders shall register “on-line” at the Authority's Engineering website at www.nftaengineering.com under this Project prior to obtaining the RFP.

Proposals will be accepted via online (electronic) submission only.
Paper proposals will not be accepted.
Proposal shall be submitted on the NFTA Engineering website at www.nftaengineering.com.

For example: If the electronic proposal is 15MB in size, it will have to be separated into two files each no larger than 10MB. The file name for the first file would look like the following example:

Proposals received after the date and time specified above for opening shall be considered late proposals and, therefore, shall not be opened and/or considered for award.
A Pre-Proposal Conference is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on April 24, 2024 at the Metropolitan Transportation Center , First Floor Conference Room,181 Ellicott Street Buffalo, New York 14203.
