Description SUMMARY OF WORK
The project consists of one (1) contract: Demolition of 1105 Wehrle Drive. The
project will be implemented under one (1) Notice to Proceed (NTP), predicated on
the anticipated project funding schedule, as set forth in the Contract Documents.

BASE BID contract work shall include, but not be limited to:
Work consists of the demolition and removal of an existing one and two story
masonry block building, attached car wash structures, and associated site
appurtenances; abandonment of existing oil water separator; break up of existing
asphalt pavements and concrete building slabs; placement of imported fill to
regrade the site; restoration with grass surfacing; removal of existing driveway
curb cuts; installation of new curb; and existing drainage inlet rim adjustments.
Work includes:
* Removal and disposal of existing one and two story masonry block building,
attached car wash structure, and all remaining contents otherwise not identified
to remain or be salvaged.
* Abandonment of building electrical, water, sanitary sewer, and gas services in
accordance with utility owners requirements.
* Removal and disposal of site appurtenances, including but not limited to signs,
landscaping, vacuum stations, trees, stumps, and light poles.
* Drainage inlet elevation adjustments.
* Break up of existing asphalt pavements and concrete building floor slab.
* Installation of airport supplied fill materials and establishment of turf over
existing pavements and building floor slab.
* Asphalt and concrete pavement removal and pavement saw cutting necessary
to install fill materials.
* Driveway curb cut removal and installation of new full height curb.
* Bollard removal.
* Abatement and disposal of asbestos containing materials.

ADD ALTERNATE BID contract work shall include, but not be limited to:
* Driveway curb cut removal and installation of new full height curb and curb
gutter.
* Installation of new 10’ high chain link security fence.
* Installation of security fence

Online registration is required to become a Document Holder and obtain Contract Documents. Copies of the Contract Documents are available for $25 and may be requested from Cindy Cirbus at 716-855-7342 or fax 716-855-7447 or downloaded from the NFTA’s Engineering Branch website. Requests may be accompanied by company check, certified check, cashier’s check or postal money order drawn in favor of the NFTA. This sum is non-refundable. The Contract Documents may be picked up Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to Noon and 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., or sent via courier billed to the requester.

Special Instructions The NFTA reserves the right to waive irregularities, to reject any or all bids and to extend the bidding period.
Bid security must accompany each bid and must be in an amount not less than ten percent of the total bid price if the base bid exceeds $50,000.00. Bid security may be submitted prior to bid opening either electronically utilizing Surety2000 at www.surety2000.com, or delivered to the NFTA in an opaque sealed envelope. Details for electronic submission are provided on the NFTA’s Engineering Branch website. In the event a bidder utilizes an offline bid but provides bid security electronically the electronic bid bond number must be submitted with the offline bid.

The Contractor shall perform not less than 50% of the work with its own forces.
The time of completion for the project is 125 calendar days after receipt of the Notice to Proceed. Liquidated damages in the amount of $2,500 per calendar day will be assessed against the Contractor for its failure to complete the project within the time specified.

The percentage goal of Disadvantaged Business Enterprise participation in the project shall be 3.7%.

A Prebid Conference will be held on February 27, 2019 at 2:30 p.m. at the Buffalo Niagara International
Airport, in the conference room located at 251-C Cayuga Drive, Cheektowaga, New York.
