Description |
The Work of this project provides for the furnishing of all labor, materials, appliances, tools, equipment and plant, and the performing of all Work in accordance with the specifications and drawings. The project consists of one (1) contract. The BASE BID work shall include, but not be limited to:
• The demolition and removal of existing air handling unit #7 (AHU #7) and associated ductwork, piping, pumps, appurtenances, and electrical equipment as indicated on the design drawings.
• The installation of a new air handling unit 7 (AHU 7) and associated ductwork, piping, pumps, electrical equipment, structural support, and appurtenances as indicated on the design drawings. The new air handling unit 7 is designed to be located in the same location as the existing, and will require some disassembly and reassembly on site in order to raise the new equipment into the building as indicated on the design drawings. |

The Contract Documents may be examined in the 7th Floor Conference Room, 181 Ellicott Street, Buffalo, New York 14203 or on the NFTA’s Engineering Branch website at www.nftaengineering.com. Online registration is required to become a Document Holder and obtain Contract Documents. Copies of the Contract Documents are available for $25 and may be requested from Sean Slagle at 716-855-7461 or fax 716-855-7447 or downloaded from the NFTA’s Engineering Branch website. Requests may be accompanied by certified check, cashier’s check or postal money order drawn in favor of the NFTA. This sum is non-refundable. The Contract Documents may be picked up Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to Noon and 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., or sent via courier billed to the requester.

The NFTA reserves the right to waive irregularities, to reject any or all bids and to extend the bidding period.
Bid security must accompany each bid and must be in an amount not less than ten percent of the total bid price if the base bid exceeds $50,000.00. Bid security may be submitted prior to bid opening either electronically utilizing Surety2000 at www.surety2000.com, or delivered to the NFTA in an opaque sealed envelope. Details for electronic submission are provided on the NFTA’s Engineering Branch website. In the event a bidder utilizes an offline bid but provides bid security electronically the electronic bid bond number must be submitted with the offline bid.
The Contractor shall perform not less than 50% of the work with its own forces.
The time of completion for the project is 210 calendar days after receipt of the Notice to Proceed.
Liquidated damages in the amount of $500.00 per calendar day will be assessed against the Contractor for its failure to complete the project within the time specified.
Minority and Women-owned Business Enterprise (MWBE) participation goals are 12% for Minority-owned Business Enterprise (MBE) and 0% for Women-owned Business Enterprise. Service Disabled Veteran Owned Business (SDVOB) participation goal is 6%.
A pre-bid meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at 10:00a.m. in the 1st floor conference room at 181 Ellicott Street, Buffalo, NY 14203.
