Buy Bid Docs at The Contract Documents may be examined in the 7th Floor Conference Room, 181 Ellicott Street, Buffalo, New York 14203. Online registration at www.nftaengineering.com is required to become a Plan Holder and obtain Contract Documents. Copies of the Contract Documents are available for $75 and may be requested from Judy Reeves at 716-855-7342 or fax 716-855-7447. Due to the sensitive nature of this project documents will not be available on the NFTA’s Engineering Branch website. Requests may be accompanied by certified check, cashier’s check or postal money order drawn in favor of the NFTA. This sum is non-refundable. The Contract Documents may be picked up Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to Noon and 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., or sent via courier billed to the requester.

Special Instructions The NFTA reserves the right to waive irregularities, to reject any or all bids and to extend the bidding period.
Bid security must accompany each bid and must be in an amount not less than ten percent of the total bid price if the base bid exceeds $50,000.00. Bid security may be submitted prior to bid opening either electronically utilizing Surety2000 at www.surety2000.com, or delivered to the NFTA in an opaque sealed envelope. Details for electronic submission are provided on the NFTA’s Engineering Branch website. In the event a bidder utilizes an offline bid but provides bid security electronically the electronic bid bond number must be submitted with the offline bid.

The Contractor shall perform not less than 25% of the work with its own forces.
The time of completion for the project is 270 calendar days after receipt of the Notice to Proceed. Liquidated damages in the amount of $500 per calendar day will be assessed against the Contractor for its failure to complete the project within the time specified.

Disadvantage Business Enterprise (DBE) participation is encouraged.

A pre-proposal conference will be held in the BNIA Administrative Office Conference Room on April 7, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. E-mail John Wojcik or call 716-855-7427 to advise of attendance and to obtain directions. Because all proponents must be escorted into the airport, the NFTA recommends that all interested parties wait on the upper level in the main concourse by the elevators Facing the passenger inspection area. An NFTA representative will be at this location at 1:15pm to provide an escort.

Site Inspection - For an appointment to inspect the building at the BNIA, call Richard Russo – FMD Manager at 716-632-4910 between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. All visits must be made by appointment only; the NFTA has made available the following dates and times:

4-19 9:00am – 12:00pm
4-20 1:00pm – 3:00pm
4-21 9:00am – 12:00pm
