Description |
fiogf49gjkf0d The contract work involves installing and commissioning an ADA compliant refurbished Passenger Boarding Bridge and a connecting fixed link (walkway) to the Passenger Terminal at the Niagara Falls International Airport. This project is located at Gate 3 of the New Terminal Building. The Jetbridge and Walkway will be supplied and installed by the NFTA’s jet bridge refurbishment manufacturer, Ameribridge Services, under this Contract. The work requires the erection, connection and setup of the jet bridge equipment in accordance with the manufacturer’s requirements, local codes and standards, and certification by the refurbishment manufacturer. The infrastructure to support the walkway and jetbridge is included within this contract. The infrastructure included is the construction of the Jetbridge and Walkway foundations, apron concrete pavement removal and replacement, structural building modifications, all work to provide services for the equipment, CCTV, and access control security system modifications, new door installation and associated interior finishes, and exterior window curtain modifications. |

The Contract Documents may be examined in the 7th Floor Conference Room, 181 Ellicott Street, Buffalo, New York 14203 or on the NFTA’s Engineering Branch website at www.nftaengineering.com. Online registration is required to become a Plan Holder and obtain Contract Documents. Copies of the Contract Documents are available for $50 and may be requested from Judy Reeves at 716-855-7342 or fax 716-855-7447 or downloaded from the NFTA’s Engineering Branch website. Requests may be accompanied by certified check, cashier’s check or postal money order drawn in favor of the NFTA. This sum is non-refundable. The Contract Documents may be picked up Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to Noon and 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., or sent via courier billed to the requester.

The NFTA reserves the right to waive irregularities, to reject any or all bids and to extend the bidding period.
Bid security must accompany each bid and must be in an amount not less than ten percent of the total bid price if the base bid exceeds $50,000.00. Bid security may be submitted prior to bid opening either electronically utilizing Surety2000 at www.surety2000.com, or delivered to the NFTA in an opaque sealed envelope. Details for electronic submission are provided on the NFTA’s Engineering Branch website. In the event a bidder utilizes an offline bid but provides bid security electronically the electronic bid bond number must be submitted with the offline bid.
A Pre-Bid Conference will be held on August 4, 2010 at 2:00 pm. at the Niagara Falls International Airport, in the Terminal Building conference room, Niagara Falls, New York.
The Contractor shall perform not less than 25% of the work with its own forces. The anticipated Notice to Proceed is on or about October 18,2010.
The time of completion for the project is 61 calendar days after receipt of the Notice to Proceed. Liquidated damages in the amount of $1000.00 per calendar day will be assessed against the Contractor for its failure to complete the project within the time specified.
Disadvantage Business Enterprise (DBE) participation goal is 18%.
