| Description |
Scope of work for this project will include labor, materials, appliances, tools, equipment, etc. as required to perform all work that is specified in the contract documents. Contract documents identify Taxiway reconstruction work at the Niagara Falls international Airport.
Reconstruction work will include Full depth Portland Cement Concrete (PCC) pavement repairs on Taxiway ‘C’ immediately west of intersection with Runway 6-24. Work will comprise of full depth saw cutting and removal of existing PCC pavement, preparation of sub-grade soils, installation of new sub-grade materials, dowel bar installation, installation and finishing of new PCC pavement, joint sealing and pavement markings; in addition to joint sealing in the general vicinity of the full depth repairs.
Reconstruction work will also include PCC pavement repairs and alterations to existing Manhole elevations on Taxiway ‘K’ near the former Army Air Base. Work will comprise of removing the top section of the Manhole to the required elevation and deteriorated courses of brick, install grade rings as necessary to allow the Manhole cover to be flushed with finished grade, and parge the top three courses of brick that remains, and reset the frame and cover. |

The Contract Documents may be examined in the 7th Floor Conference Room, 181 Ellicott Street, Buffalo, New York 14203 or on the NFTA’s Engineering Branch website at www.nftaengineering.com. Online registration is required to become a Plan Holder and obtain Contract Documents. Copies of the Contract Documents are available for $25 and may be requested from Judy Reeves at 716-855-7342 or fax 716-855-7447 or downloaded from the NFTA’s Engineering Branch website. Requests may be accompanied by certified check, cashier’s check or postal money order drawn in favor of the NFTA. This sum is non-refundable. The Contract Documents may be picked up Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to Noon and 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., or sent via courier billed to the requester.

The NFTA reserves the right to waive irregularities, to reject any or all bids and to extend the bidding period.
Bid security must accompany each bid and must be in an amount not less than ten percent of the total bid price if the base bid exceeds $50,000.00. Bid security may be submitted prior to bid opening either electronically utilizing Surety2000 at www.surety2000.com, or delivered to the NFTA in an opaque sealed envelope. Details for electronic submission are provided on the NFTA’s Engineering Branch website. In the event a bidder utilizes an offline bid but provides bid security electronically the electronic bid bond number must be submitted with the offline bid.
The Contractor shall perform not less than 80% of the work with its own forces.
The time of completion for the project is 90 calendar days after receipt of the Notice to Proceed. Liquidated damages in the amount of $1,000.00 per calendar day will be assessed against the Contractor for its failure to complete the project within the time specified.
Disadvantage Business Enterprise (DBE) participation is encouraged.
A pre-bid meeting is scheduled for Thursday May 12, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. the Niagara Falls International Airport Terminal Conference Room.
