Description |
fiogf49gjkf0d Provide all materials, labor, programming, testing and training to install a complete, new, working Fire Alarm and Security System for the following light rail stations: Allen/Hospital, Summer/Best, Utica, Delevan, Humboldt, Amherst, LaSalle and South Campus Stations; the LRRT Yard and Shop facility and Operation and Control Center. Work will also include network communication back to a central command center and integration of the existing FCI/Gamewell fire alarm panel from NFIA, BNIA, 1404 Main Street, Babcock Bus Garage to the OCC graphic work stations. |

The Contract Documents may be examined in the 7th Floor Conference Room, 181 Ellicott Street, Buffalo, New York 14203 or on the NFTA’s Engineering Branch website at www.nftaengineering.com. Online registration is required to become a Plan Holder and obtain Contract Documents. Copies of the Contract Documents are available for $70 and may be requested from Judy Reeves at 716-855-7342 or fax 716-855-7447 or downloaded from the NFTA’s Engineering Branch website. Requests may be accompanied by certified check, cashier’s check or postal money order drawn in favor of the NFTA. This sum is non-refundable. The Contract Documents may be picked up Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to Noon and 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., or sent via courier billed to the requester.

The NFTA reserves the right to waive irregularities, to reject any or all bids and to extend the bidding period.
Bid security must accompany each bid and must be in an amount not less than ten percent of the total bid price if the base bid exceeds $50,000.00. Bid security may be submitted prior to bid opening either electronically utilizing Surety2000 at www.surety2000.com, or delivered to the NFTA in an opaque sealed envelope. Details for electronic submission are provided on the NFTA’s Engineering Branch website. In the event a bidder utilizes an offline bid but provides bid security electronically the electronic bid bond number must be submitted with the offline bid.
The Contractor shall perform not less than 25% of the work with its own forces.
The time of completion for the project is 540 calendar days after receipt of the Notice to Proceed. Liquidated damages in the amount of $500 per calendar day will be assessed against the Contractor for its failure to complete the project within the time specified.
Disadvantage Business Enterprise (DBE) participation is encouraged.
A series of pre-proposal conferences will be held as follows:
Yard & Shop, O.C.C. - August 30 @ 8:30am meet at Yard & Shop (164 Ohio Street)
University, Lasalle, Amherst, Humbolt - August 31 @ 8:30am meet at University Station
Lasalle, Delevan, Utica, Summer, Allen/Portal - September 1 @ 8:30am meet at Lasalle Station
