Description Work includes two locations within the Airfield Operations Area (A.O.A.). The rehabilitation of existing pavement adjacent to the Air Rescue Fire Fighting (ARFF) building, Work Area #1, includes the reconstruction of existing asphalt pavement, cold milling of bituminous pavements, asphalt overlay pavement restoration, associated saw cutting of pavements, crack sealing, pavement markings and the installation of new underdrain piping within the reconstructed pavement area. The Base Bid also includes the rehabilitation of pavement adjacent the existing Salt Barn, Work Area #2. Work at this location shall included the removal of existing pavement, full depth asphalt pavement, the associated saw cutting of pavements as well as the installation of a new drainage inlet and associated storm piping.

Online registration is required to become a Plan Holder and obtain Contract Documents. Copies of the Contract Documents are available for $15 and may be requested from Judy Reeves at 716-855-7342 or fax 716-855-7447 or downloaded from the NFTA’s Engineering Branch website. Requests may be accompanied by certified check, cashier’s check or postal money order drawn in favor of the NFTA. This sum is non-refundable. The Contract Documents may be picked up Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to Noon and 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., or sent via courier billed to the requester.

Special Instructions The NFTA reserves the right to waive irregularities, to reject any or all bids and to extend the bidding period.
Bid security must accompany each bid and must be in an amount not less than ten percent of the total bid price if the base bid exceeds $50,000.00. Bid security may be submitted prior to bid opening either electronically utilizing Surety2000 at www.surety2000.com, or delivered to the NFTA in an opaque sealed envelope. Details for electronic submission are provided on the NFTA’s Engineering Branch website. In the event a bidder utilizes an offline bid but provides bid security electronically the electronic bid bond number must be submitted with the offline bid.

The Contractor shall perform not less than 50% of the work with its own forces.
The time of completion for the project is 42 calendar days after receipt of the Notice to Proceed. Liquidated damages in the amount of $1,000 per calendar day will be assessed against the Contractor for its failure to complete the project within the time specified.

Disadvantage Business Enterprise (DBE) participation is encouraged.
