Description |
The Work shall include, but not be limited to:
Manufacturing, furnishing, delivery, and unloading of airfield lighting system components consisting of base cans, extension rings, spacer rings, and all necessary hardware for use by Others for the installation of a FAA approved high intensity runway light system (HIRLS), a FAA approved runway center line lights system, a runway touchdown zone lighting system, and miscellaneous other airfield lighting system upgrades.
Manufacturing, furnishing, delivery, and unloading of FAA approved constant current regulators (CCR) and all necessary hardware for use by Others for the installation of the CCRs in an airfield lighting electrical vault building.
Provide on-site technical support and coordination with Others (the Mill and Overlay Contractor) to assure the proper installation of the provided materials in order to meet the warranty validation requirements of this contract.
Time restrictions apply as specified in the contract documents. |

The Contract Documents may be examined in the 7th Floor Conference Room, 181 Ellicott Street, Buffalo, New York 14203 or on the NFTA’s Engineering Branch website at www.nftaengineering.com. Online registration is required to become a Plan Holder and obtain Contract Documents. Copies of the Contract Documents are available free of charge and may be requested from Judy Reeves at 716-855-7342 or fax 716-855-7447 or downloaded from the NFTA’s Engineering Branch website. Requests may be accompanied by certified check, cashier’s check or postal money order drawn in favor of the NFTA. This sum is non-refundable. The Contract Documents may be picked up Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to Noon and 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., or sent via courier billed to the requester.

The NFTA reserves the right to waive irregularities, to reject any or all bids and to extend the bidding period.
Bid security must accompany each bid and must be in an amount not less than ten percent of the total bid price if the base bid exceeds $50,000.00. Bid security may be submitted prior to bid opening either electronically utilizing Surety2000 at www.surety2000.com, or delivered to the NFTA in an opaque sealed envelope. Details for electronic submission are provided on the NFTA’s Engineering Branch website. In the event a bidder utilizes an offline bid but provides bid security electronically the electronic bid bond number must be submitted with the offline bid.
The Contractor shall perform not less than 75% of the work with its own forces.
The time of completion for the project is 45 calendar days after receipt of the Notice to Proceed. Liquidated damages in the amount of $3500.00 per calendar day will be assessed against the Contractor for its failure to complete the project within the time specified.
Disadvantage Business Enterprise (DBE) participation is encouraged.
A Pre-bid Conference will be held on December 14, 201 at 11:00 a.m. at the Niagara Falls International Airport (NFIA) in the terminal building’s second floor conference room. The NFIA’s address is 2035 Niagara Falls Boulevard, Niagara Falls, New York 14304.
