Description Work consists of asphalt pavement rehabilitation on Taxilane ‘A2’ and the installation of a new drainage inlet and piping necessary to connect to existing storm outfall structure along Taxiway ‘D’. Work includes:

• Cold milling of bituminous concrete pavement.
• Pavement sawcutting.
• Installation of bituminous tack coat.
• Installation and compaction of new P-401 Hot Mix Asphalt pavement.
• Joint and crack sealing.
• Airfield pavement marking restoration.
• Installation of new drainage inlet structure.
• Installation of new drainage piping.
• Full depth bituminous pavement restoration.

Buy Bid Docs at The Contract Documents may be examined in the 7th Floor Conference Room, 181 Ellicott Street, Buffalo, New York 14203 or on the NFTA’s Engineering Branch website at www.nftaengineering.com. Online registration is required to become a Plan Holder and obtain Contract Documents. Copies of the Contract Documents are available for $50 and may be requested from Judy Reeves at 716-855-7342 or fax 716-855-7447 or downloaded from the NFTA’s Engineering Branch website. Requests may be accompanied by company check, certified check, cashier’s check or postal money order drawn in favor of the NFTA. This sum is non-refundable. The Contract Documents may be picked up Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to Noon and 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., or sent via courier billed to the requester.

Special Instructions The NFTA reserves the right to waive irregularities, to reject any or all bids and to extend the bidding period.
Bid security must accompany each bid and must be in an amount not less than ten percent of the total bid price if the base bid exceeds $50,000.00. Bid security may be submitted prior to bid opening either electronically utilizing Surety2000 at www.surety2000.com, or delivered to the NFTA in an opaque sealed envelope. Details for electronic submission are provided on the NFTA’s Engineering Branch website. In the event a bidder utilizes an offline bid but provides bid security electronically the electronic bid bond number must be submitted with the offline bid.

The Contractor shall perform not less than 50% of the work with its own forces.
The time of completion for the project is 82 calendar days after receipt of the Notice to Proceed. Liquidated damages will be assessed against the Contractor for its failure to complete the project within the time specified.

Disadvantage Business Enterprise (DBE) and MWBE participation is strongly encouraged.

A Pre-Bid conference will be held on March 11, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Buffalo Niagara International Airport, in the conference room located at 251C Cayuga Road, Cheektowaga, New York 14225.
