Description SUMMARY OF WORK
The Work of this project provides for the furnishing of all labor, materials, appliances, tools, equipment and plant, and the performing of all Work in accordance with the specifications and drawings, with exception of work that is expressly and specifically not included in the project

The project consists of one (1) contract: Lasalle Park and Ride Paving Repairs.

BASE BID: Work shall include, but not be limited to:
LaSalle Station bus loop work elements include: Full depth pavement removal and replacement of Portland Cement Concrete, Fine grading of existing subbase material and installation of new materials, Joint sawing and sealing

Work in the LaSalle Park and Ride parking lot consists of asphalt pavement rehabilitation at select locations including: • 1½” mill and inlay, Full depth reconstruction of existing pavement section in select areas, including excavation, installation of geotextile, new subbase material and 4” asphalt pavement

Additional work elements in the LaSalle Park and Ride lot include: Installation of new pavement markings and signage, Altering of drainage structures to grade, Installation of w-beam railing on existing posts, Construction of ADA compliant curb ramps.

ALTERNATE BID work shall include, but not be limited to: • Micro-Surfacing of the existing asphalt parking surface, including crack filling, cleaning the existing pavement surface and tack coating.

Online registration is required to become a Document Holder and obtain Contract Documents. Copies of the Contract Documents are available for $25 and may be requested from Cindy Cirbus at 716-855-7342 or fax 716-855-7447 or downloaded from the NFTA’s Engineering Branch website. Requests may be accompanied by company check, certified check, cashier’s check or postal money order drawn in favor of the NFTA. This sum is non-refundable. The Contract Documents may be picked up Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to Noon and 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., or sent via courier billed to the requester.

Special Instructions The NFTA reserves the right to waive irregularities, to reject any or all bids and to extend the bidding period.
Bid security must accompany each bid and must be in an amount not less than ten percent of the total bid price if the base bid exceeds $50,000.00. Bid security may be submitted prior to bid opening either electronically utilizing Surety2000 at www.surety2000.com, or delivered to the NFTA in an opaque sealed envelope. Details for electronic submission are provided on the NFTA’s Engineering Branch website. In the event a bidder utilizes an offline bid but provides bid security electronically the electronic bid bond number must be submitted with the offline bid.

The Contractor shall perform not less than 50% of the work with its own forces.
The time of completion for the project is 60 calendar days after receipt of the Notice to Proceed. Liquidated damages in the amount of $850 per calendar day will be assessed against the Contractor for its failure to complete the project within the time specified.
