Description SUMMARY OF WORK

The Work of this project provides for the furnishing of all labor, materials, appliances, tools, equipment and plant, and the performing of all Work in accordance the specifications and drawings for this project, with exception of work that is expressly and specifically not included in the project.

The project consists of converting an empty 830 square foot first floor space into a backup data center for the BNIA. An existing 2,466 square foot office space above will receive new finishes, electric, lighting and HVAC which will serve for office staff for the backup data center. New air conditioning and backup generator will serve the backup data center.

The project consists of one (1) contract.

BASE BID work shall include, but not be limited to:

1.) Furnishing and installing a new outdoor natural gas generator, transfer switches and accessories along with new power distribution, circuit connections to HVAC and IT equipment, branch circuits, new lighting and electrical devices and cable tray and conduits for future networking cabling. In addition, the project includes the installation of a new underground conduit to an existing communication manhole located on airport property and the extension of the existing fire alarm system.

2.) Furnishing and installing a new rooftop unit with associated pipe and duct work, 2 fan coil units with condensing units, temperature controls, installation of a separate condensing unit for an IT rack AC unit, and all associated pipe work for natural gas, refrigerant and condensate drains.

3.) Furnishing and installing 2 new security doors, a new acoustical drop ceiling and carpet tile in the office space. In addition, the project includes all necessary demolition and repairs to all walls within the office space. This includes cut, patch and paint of existing walls and the installation of fire stopping.

Requests may be accompanied by company check, certified check, cashier’s check or postal money order drawn in favor of the NFTA. This sum is non-refundable. The Contract Documents may be picked up Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to Noon and 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., or sent via courier billed to the requester.

Special Instructions The NFTA reserves the right to waive irregularities, to reject any or all bids and to extend the bidding period.
Bid security must accompany each bid and must be in an amount not less than ten percent of the total bid price if the base bid exceeds $50,000.00. Bid security may be submitted prior to bid opening either electronically utilizing Surety2000 at www.surety2000.com, or delivered to the NFTA in an opaque sealed envelope. Details for electronic submission are provided on the NFTA’s Engineering Branch website. In the event a bidder utilizes an offline bid but provides bid security electronically the electronic bid bond number must be submitted with the offline bid.

The Contractor shall perform not less than 25% of the work with its own forces.
The time of completion for the project is 150 calendar days after receipt of the Notice to Proceed. Liquidated damages in the amount of $500.00 per calendar day will be assessed against the Contractor for its failure to complete the project within the time specified.

The percentage goal is 30% for Minority and Women-owned Business Enterprises (MWBE) and 6% for Service Disabled Veteran Owned Businesses (SDVOB).
