Description The Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority, NFTA, will receive bids on a general asphalt pavement rehabilitation project. The work locations are the NFTA’s downtown Ellicott bus loop located south of the 181 Ellicott Street Metropolitan Transportation Center, and a Michigan Avenue Light Rail Rapid Transit System’s gravel parking lot located directly across form the Yards and Shop facility. The 4200 square yard Ellicott bus loop involves, cold milling, asphalt paving, and curb repair. The 24 space Michigan Avenue parking lot work consist of 880 square yard full depth asphalt pavement construction, drainage, perimeter curbing, and barrier work. Time restrictions apply as specified in the contract documents.

Copies of the Contract Documents are available for $25 and may be requested from Judy Reeves at 716-855-7342 or fax 716-855-7447 or downloaded from the NFTA’s Engineering Branch website. Requests may be accompanied by company check, certified check, cashier’s check or postal money order drawn in favor of the NFTA. This sum is non-refundable. The Contract Documents may be picked up Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to Noon and 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., or sent via courier billed to the requester.

Special Instructions The NFTA reserves the right to waive irregularities, to reject any or all bids and to extend the bidding period.
Bid security must accompany each bid and must be in an amount not less than ten percent of the total bid price if the base bid exceeds $50,000.00. Bid security may be submitted prior to bid opening either electronically utilizing Surety2000 at, or delivered to the NFTA in an opaque sealed envelope. Details for electronic submission are provided on the NFTA’s Engineering Branch website. In the event a bidder utilizes an offline bid but provides bid security electronically the electronic bid bond number must be submitted with the offline bid.

The Contractor shall perform not less than 50% of the work with its own forces.
Subcontracting goals: 15%MBE,15%WBE,6%SDVOB

The time of completion for the project is specified in the Contract Documents. Liquidated damages will be assessed against the Contractor for its failure to complete the project within the time specified.

A Pre-Bid conference will be held on March 2, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the Metropolitan Transportation Center, in the 7th Conference Room located at 181, Ellicott Street, Buffalo, New York 14203.
